Park Rental Reservations, Policies and Fees
Reserve a park or facility online
Policies For Outdoor Recreation Facilities
Scheduling of "outdoor recreation facilities" under the control of the Parks and Recreation Department will occur with the following priority.
- Any City of Walker program, event or activity.
- Any City of Walker sponsored program, event or activity.
- Any Kenowa Hills Public Schools program, event or activity.
- Any program, event, activity or league subject to a City of Walker contract, with priority given to the group with the most participants that live within the City of Walker.
- Other public or private organizations or individuals, taken on a "first come - first served" basis, with priority given to those located or living within the City of Walker.
Rental Guidelines
- All non-sporting events shall require approval from the Walker City Manager's office.
- Nothing will be sold, exhibited, or displayed without permission from the Walker City Manager's office.
- The City of Walker may enforce additional regulations which they may deem necessary to protect property and promote safety.
- The City of Walker reserves the right to require the applicant to furnish, before use of the facilities, a certificate of liability insurance coverage naming the City of Walker as additional insured.
- All applications for the use of the available outdoor recreation facilities can be reserved online at walkericeandfitness.com or by contacting the City of Walker Recreation Department. Requests must be received within 1 week of the rental date for proper approval.
- No reservations shall be valid until the permit has been signed and posted by the City of Walker Recreation Department.
- Use/Rental of any outdoor recreation facilities must be scheduled through the City of Walker Recreation Department. Full payment must be paid at time of reservation and proof of residency by picture I.D.
- All renters are required to dispose of their own trash. Dumpsters are available at Walker Ice and Fitness Center.
- The permit holder is responsible for all damages incurred to parks and property during its use.
- No items are to be taped or attached to the pavilions or any other City of Walker property.
- The City of Walker reserves the right to refuse or revoke a permit at any time.
- The use of intoxicants or alcoholic beverages on city property is prohibited.
- All motorized vehicles on city park property are prohibited.
- All outdoor recreation facilities shall close at dark or at 10:00 P.M., whichever is earlier. Exception: City sponsored events.

No facility fees will be charged to public organizations such as units of government, Kenowa Hills Public Schools, Comstock Park Public Schools, Grandville Public Schools, the Walker Branch of Kent District Libraries, etc., unless the Walker City Manager determines that fees are necessary to cover extraordinary expenses related to facility preparation, public safety services and/or facility clean up.
Park Rental Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made at least 10 days in advance of rental date to receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 10 days from the rental date will not be eligible for refunds, this includes weather-related no shows.
