Assessing

The Assessing Department staff annually revalues over 7,200 residential and 860 commercial and industrial properties and calculates over 1,400 personal property accounts. In the average year, we collect and analyze information on over 800 sale transactions, and assess 300 to 350 new residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. Together, the staff handles thousands of telephone inquiries and personal visits to the office each year. You can contact us at 616-791-6862.

The Assessing Department maintains records of current ownership, assessed and taxable values, housing characteristics, and market data, and this information is available to the public through our office and on this website.
