On Nov 7, 2020, the WIFC hosted USA Hockey's Try Hockey for Free day. Our Hockey Director and volunteers from the Kenowa Hills High School Knights worked with boys and girls, ranging in age from 5-13, on the ice and everyone had a great time! Coach Mike explained "30 kids showed up for Try Hockey for Free. We've been doing this for 9 years and this was one of the strongest groups we ever had. Every kid got better during the hour and several of the participants have now signed up to be a part of our Cross Ice program! Thanks to everyone for participating and for the help of the KHHS knights, who assisted on the ice and did a fantastic job working with the kids. USA Hockey and WIFC host Try Hockey for Free a couple of times every year - it's the perfect way to find out that hockey is a great sport for everyone."
